When my father Adriano's family moved from Cento di Ferrara to Brescia, one of the greatest passions was the "trip to Lake Garda". During these rare Sunday trips the young Adriano learned to appreciate what the Mediterranean climate of the lake provided, namely essentially lemons or various citrus fruits, and olives. At one time olive oil did not have the fame of such an extraordinary product that in recent years it has conquered and what struck my father were citrus fruits. He loved the scent, the particular acidity and soon began to produce (at that time almost everyone did so) the liqueur in the house. Adriano began to delight in experimenting with different solutions and mixing the infusions of the precious local fruits in various proportions. Thus was born the basic recipe of what would later become the Spirit of Garda. The "my liquor" as he called it has not been done since then but the recipe has arrived unchanged up to me. After many trials and attempts to adapt it to modern tastes, I found what I think is the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, enriching it with a very special blue color that recalls the waters of our wonderful Lake. So taste this wonderful infusion in moderation of citrus fruits, look at its color and relive the extraordinary and unique atmosphere of Lake Garda.
